November 2020 Challenge: "Cold"

"Sudden Blizzard" 9x12" Acrylic on Watercolor paper by Kelley Carey MacDonald
There are many layers of paint and marks on this piece.  I was thinking of the snowstorm we had right before Halloween - no one was prepared - not even the trees.

“ Our first snow this winter, an unusual pie bald doe appeared in my back yard, luminous,
beautiful, and rare, known locally as The Ghost Deer.”

This one is kind of a study for bigger painting. It was a scene from a fun place during the summer of 2019 when we were still dining and drinking inside of restaurants and bars.

October 2020 Challenge: "Unity"

“Wind, Sand and Water” 6x6 oil on panel by Mary Sheehan Winn

"Blue, Blue, My World Is Blue", 12x12 acrylic by Kelley Carey MacDonald
One of the first songs we learned in guitar lessons in jr. high was this song (so - around '68?) and this painting, done as a demo for my Intro To Intuitive Painting Zoom class, was all about blues - cobalt, prussian, pthalo, ultramarine, blue violet, gray blue - enough! With just a touch of orange to keep me from going mad.  I love the history you can see through the translucent parts, and the patterns here and there.  And... no, your 5 year old could not do this! :D

“ Love is all you need “has been running through my head for so long now. During the pandemic it has helped me to count my gratitudes and think about what really matters. I designed this for a  T-shirt that was sold on the unity acme shirt print site to raise money for an organization called NoKidHungry.org .

Women need other women, it's always been true... littles, bigs, mamas, grannies....  - to teach each other to be strong women.  I have ZERO excuses to not have finished this month, except I kept going back and forth between 4 different ways of expressing this.  So... as soon I finish, I'll upload it.  Till then....
