This month the topic was 'mixed media' - which is always a struggle for me and takes days and days. I happened to have completed this small work, and so I will offer it while I am waiting for the one I did for this 'challenge' to be finished! The water lily series was for the Providence Art Club Little Pictures Show. I used acryilc paint, graphite, water soluble pastels and oil pastels.

“Angel Fish” mixed media WIP
8x10 watercolor, gelli print with botanicals and collage on sheet music by Mary Sheehan Winn
Work in progress. I used watercolor on very old sheet music which absorbs well, then threw some botanical stencils on the gelli plate and pulled it using the red and turquoise. A ghost print of gold from beneath the stencil and added an angel fish drawn onto gelli printed sheet music and cut out. Where will I take this? Stay tuned to find out. Wishing all a Happy, Healthy, Hopeful New Year
