“Narcissus in My Window”
8x8 acrylic by Mary Sheehan Winn
Every winter I look forward to sprouting paper white narcissus bulbs on my windowsill. The spicy fragrance and beautiful white blooms bring a warmth to the snowy winter months. My Modern painting class focused on breaking all the rules of perspective and shape and, although it does not come naturally, I managed it with this one. I mixed it up by indicating, but not finessing the shapes of the vases and pots and to wake it up I added the orange border and dots of color to lead the eye.
"Behind the Easel (Selfie)" 10'x20" Acrylic by Paula Villanova
Even though the figure isn't the biggest thing in the image, the diagonals of the easel and the black and white shirt bring your eye to her.
"Boston Public Gardens" by Pamela Copeman 12"x24" oil
This is still a work in progress. I love the multiple paths you can walk to see the tulips, the flowering trees, and the Swan Boats - Leading the Eye.

Weaving in and out of the many translucent layers are marks from graphite, water soluble crayons, pastels and paint. Up, up to the warmth the dots, dashes, lines and color blocks offer up

"Superstructure" 10 x 10 oil by Jody Regan - I love these boats with their angular appendages reaching into the sky. These gentleman had a nice visit below after checking in on their boats at dock. |
